The Georgia Underwriting Association (GUA) was created by insurance companies licensed to write property insurance in Georgia to administer the state FAIR Plan. The plan insures homeowners throughout the state who have not been able to find certain types of insurance coverage in the voluntary market, and also coverage against windstorm and hail damage in coastal counties and off-shore islands.
