Global Nuclear Detection Architecture

Global Nuclear Detection Architecture :

NSPD-43/HSPD-14 requires DNDO [Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, DHS] to develop an enhanced global nuclear detection architecture. The Global Nuclear Detection Architecture is a multilayered system of detection technologies, programs, and guidelines designed to enhance the nation's ability to detect and prevent a radiological or nuclear attack. DNDO is the primary office within the federal government responsible for furthering the development of the Global Nuclear Detection Architecture. The Global Nuclear Detection Architecture is intended to integrate federal, state, and local governments nuclear detection and notification systems. DNDO is responsible for implementing the domestic portion of the Global Nuclear Detection Architecture, and works with other federal agencies to integrate their detection programs into the architecture.
