Gravity Loads
Gravity Loads : In earthquake engineering, the vertical loads created in the elements of a structure by the force of gravity. Gravity loads are sometimes separated into dead load (the weight of the structure) and live load (the weight of furnishings and other contents). See: Hall (2003)
