Greenhouse Gas (GHG) 1
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) 1 : A gas that absorbs and re-emits infrared radiation and contributes to the greenhouse effect of the atmosphere. The most important greenhouse gases are: water vapour, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxides, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and tropospherical ozone. Carbon dioxide accounts for more than 50 % of the anthropogenic greenhouse effect, followed by methane and CFCs at about 20 % each
