Guy Line 1 : (1) A line bent on to a turntable ladder to assist in maintaining stability in a high wind. (2) A line bent on to a second line to keep an object which is being lowered, clear of obstructions on its descent. May be formed from the lowering line itself by making the chair knot or bowline in the bight in the middle of the line
