Haswell

Haswell :

Haswell is the code name for Intel's 4th generation Core i-based processors. The Haswell line follows the Ivy Bridge series. Haswell processors include revisions of Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7. Models are recognizable by the Core ix 4xxx model number (x being variable). Desktop processors in the series include quad-core and dual-core versions. The series also includes a low-power version for ultrabooks, one developed specifically for tablets and one for what Intel calls Next Unit of Computing (NUC) mini-PCs for set top box-sized computers. Improvements for this generation of processors include a modest inter-process communication (IPC) boost and a significant advance in HD 5000 graphics processing (GPU), as well as better power efficiency and battery life for mobile computers. Additional features include: More integrated voice and touch command. (1) Unique hardware identification to online sites for identity protection, secure online purchases and logins. (2) Hardware locking and encryption of data. (3) Theft detection with an Internet-based interval check-in system. Haswell is made on a 22-nanometer photolithographic process.
