Hazard (Natural) 3 :
A natural hazard represents the potential interaction between humans and extreme natural events. It represents the potential or likelihood of an event (it is not the event itself) (Tobin & Montz 1997, 5). Natural hazards constitute a complex web of physical and environmental factors interacting with the social, economic, and political realities of society (Tobin and Montz 1997, 11).
