Hazard 20 :
The probability of the occurrence of a disaster caused by a natural phenomenon (earthquake, cyclone), by failure of manmade sources of energy (nuclear reactor, industrial explosion), or uncontrolled human activity (overgrazing, heavy traffic, conflicts) UNDRO. Some authors use the term in a broader sense, including vulnerability, elements at risk, and the consequence of risk. (Gunn 1990, 374).
