MSDS Relevance: H-statements are not currently required on labels or MSDS's by U.S. OSHA, however, this will eventually change as the US moves towards using the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). In the European Community, H-statements are being phased in and will replace risk phrases which are already required by law. You should expect to start seeing H-statements on your MSDS's and labels over the next few years. Remember that H-statements phrases indicate only the hazards of a material, not the safety precautions that you need to follow. For safety information See: The Precaution Statements entry.
