Headspace Concentration 1

Headspace Concentration 1 : A technique for concentrating all or most of the flammable or combustible liquid vapours in a sample onto a tube of charcoal, a wire coated with charcoal, a charcoal coated polymer, or some other adsorbing material which will later be desorbed in order to analyse the concentrated vapours. This is a primary form of sample preparation in arson debris analysis. This is also known as adsorption/elution, vapour concentration, or total headspace.
