Heat Stress 4

Heat Stress 4 : Working Outdoors? How do I know if it's too hot? (a) The temperature rises; (b) Humidity increases; (c) The sun gets stronger; (d) There is no air movement; (e) No controls are in place to reduce the impacts of equipment that radiates heat; (f) Protective clothing or gear is worn; (g) Work is strenuous. The heat index, which takes both temperature and humidity into account, is a useful tool for outdoor workers and employers (see: Using the Heat Index: A Guide for Employers).
