Transfer of heat energy through conduction, convection and or radiation. Convection is carried out by the smoke and gases generated which are extremely hot, radiation is carried out by the flame, which can be at a temperature of 1000°C, and conduction is carried out when flames or smoke are in contact with some conductive material which can spread the fire from one room to another.
