Horizontal Glass Tube :
1. 38 m long, internal diam. 7. 6 cm used for dust explosbility testing. The tube is open both ends. The igniter is an electrically heated wire coil, maintained at 1300°C. Dust is placed in the bottom of the tube and dispersed by a metered blast of air past the igniter. Observations are made as to flame propagation. The quantity of dust used and the air flow can be altered. It can be used for all carbonaceous dusts but not metal dusts as these could damage the igniter
