Hydrant, Private Fire : A valved connection on a water supply system having one or more outlets and that is used to supply hose and fire department pumpers with water on private property. Where connected to a public water system, the private hydrants are supplied by a private service main that begins at the point of service designated by the AHJ, usually at a manually operated valve near the property line
