Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) 2
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) 2 : A malodorous gas made up of hydrogen and sulfur with the characteristic odor of rotten eggs. Hydrogen sulfide may be present in some produced crude oils and formation waters. The gas, in the presence of an aqueous phase, is corrosive to tubular and wellhead goods. The gas is toxic and, in very low concentration, can cause death. (Bul D11)
