Hyogo Framework for Action and the main components of Disaster Risk Reduction :
At the World Conference on Disaster Reduction in Kobe, Japan, in 2005, the international community signed up to a 10-year DRR strategy, the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA). The HFA sets out three strategic goals and outlines five priorities for action, which cover the main areas of DRR. It also suggests important areas for intervention within each theme.
