HyTex Hydrogen Texaco

HyTex Hydrogen Texaco : A process for making pure hydrogen from waste gases in oil refineries. There are three stages. In the first, partial combustion with oxygen in a noncatalytic reactor yields a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen (syngas). In the second, the shift reaction with steam converts the carbon monoxide to carbon dioxide and more hydrogen. The third stage uses PSA to separate the hydrogen from the carbon dioxide and various impurities
