Improvement Notice 7
Improvement Notice 7 : May be issued by a workplace inspector, if an inspector reasonably believes that a person is contravening health and safety legislation, or has already contravened these laws in circumstances that make it likely that the contravention will continue or be repeated. The improvement notice can require the person to remedy the contravention or likely contravention; or the operations causing the contravention or likely contravention. Typically, an improvement notice must state: (a) the provision the inspector believes is being, or has been, contravened; and (b) briefly, how the provision is being contravened; and (c) the action the person must take to remedy the contravention or likely contravention; and (d) the day before which the person is required to remedy the contravention or likely contravention. An improvement notice must be complied with. Failure to do so will result in penalties applying
