Ionization Detector 1
Ionization Detector 1 : (Fire Pr) A device that detects combustion products and actuates an alarm and/ or an extinguishing system. More correctly, an ionization chamber smoke detector. Note: Typically an alpharay detector with radium226 or americium241 as the ionizing source. Combustion products entering the chamber of the detector lower the current flow between two plates, and associated circuitry generates a signal when the current flow drops to a predetermined value
