Jargon

Jargon : (ICT) When a group of people talk in a technical language that non-specialist do not understand, they are said to be speaking 'jargon'. Almost every technical field has a vocabulary all of its own. For example a communications engineer might say something like "The 'c' over 'kt' is good enough to allow a 30db link budget with an anisotropic antenna". This makes sense to the communications engineer, but it is just gobbledygook to others. Another favourite habit of people is to speak in acronyms. An automotive salesman might be heard to say "The SUV TIV is SAAR adjusted whilst the C SEG is down YOY". Jargon is excellent for (1) Communicating efficiently with like-minded people. (2) Excluding laymen from specialist conversations
