Joint Information System (JIS) 22 :

"The JIS provides the mechanism to organize, integrate, and coordinate information to ensure timely, accurate, accessible, and consistent messaging across multiple jurisdictions and/or disciplines, including the private sector and NGOs. It includes the plans, protocols, procedures, and structures used to provide information to: (1) general public; (2) disaster victims; (3) affected jurisdictions; (4) elected officials; (5) community leaders; (6) private sector; (7) media; (8) NGOs (e.g., American Red Cross); (9) response and recovery organizations (e.g., urban search and rescue, utilities); (10) volunteer groups (e.g., CERT, VOAD); (11) international interests (e.g., international media and donations); and (12) other impacted groups".
