Linearly Increasing Temperature Method

Linearly Increasing Temperature Method :

The method consists of increasing the sample temperature linearly with time from a value far below the normal temperature of the process to a high value, e.g. 300 - 500ºC, the rate of change of the temperature (scan rate) is constant and where a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) device is used, it is usually fixed at a value of 4-10 K?min-1. With a scanning mode experiment one can determine: The heat release rate and the heat of reaction for both the desired and the decomposition reaction and a rough indication of the temperature range at which they are active. The total heat of all the exothermic reactions is the energy potential of the sample
