Local 1 : (1) An alarm given only to the engine (and ladder) company nearest to a small fire (such as burning leaves or a motor vehicle fire, etc. , it does not require full first alarm response. (2) An alarm for which a first due company is dispatched to a definite location before a box alarm is sounded, but which is different from a still or silent alarm in that it is either announced or signaled over a tapper. (3) A fire fighter belonging to the jurisdiction in which a fire occurs, as opposed to one responding from outside the jurisdiction
