Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) 3 : Group appointed by State Emergency Response Commission made up of elected state and local officials, police, fire, civil defense, public health professional, environmental, hospital, and transportation officials, as well as representatives of facilities subject to emergency planning requirements, community groups and the news media. The LEPC is responsible for preparing local emergency plan(s) that comply with Title III, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) requirements
