A process for partially oxidizing waste organic products, to render them digestible in biological waste treatment systems such as the Activated Sludge process. The oxidant is oxygen, at a pressure of 3 to 20 atm. the temperature 120 to 2000C, and the reaction is catalyzed by quinonoid substances and iron salts
