Lower Explosive Limit 1
Lower Explosive Limit 1 : (Abb: LEL) (1) The minimum concentration of combustible gas or vapor in air below which flame does not propagate away from an ignition source. (2) The lower limit of flammability of a gas or vapor at ordinary ambient temperatures expressed in precent of the gas or vapor in air by volume. Note: This limit is assumed constant for temperatures up to 2500 F. Above this it should be decreased by a factor of 0. 7 because explosibility increases with higher temperatures
