Lumping Analysis

Lumping Analysis :

Some times the distribution of defining variables in the computational domain is not interesting or important from the engineering view point. This can happen because the distribution is well known (e.g. constant) or because the designer is only interested in integral values. In a lumped analysis the system is considered as a single and integrated volume, where changing gradients are neglected, so only averaged values are obtained. Lumping analysis can be used for Modelling, Simulation and Optimisation
