Antifreeze Agent


Antifreeze Agent : (Techn) A substance added to liquid to lower its freezing point. Used to protect fire extinguishers and engine cooling systems against freezing. Common antifreeze agents are salts, alcohols, glycols, and hydroxy compounds. The term is used also to describe refrigeration brines, snow melting and deicing agents, etc. See: also: Additive
