Mechanics
Mechanics : (Abb: Mech) The science that deals with the effects of forces upon bodies at rest and in motion, divided into the study of fluids (fluid mechanics) and of solids (mechanics of solids). Mechanics is also divided into statics and dynamics, with the latter bed into kinematics and kinetics. Statics deals with bodies at rest or in equilibrium; kinematics with abstract motion; and kinetics with the effect of forces or moment on the motion of material bodies
