Metacentre
Metacentre : If a vertical line is drawn through the centre of gravity of a body floating in equilibrium in a liquid, and then if the body is displaced slightly a second vertical line is drawn through the centre of buoyancy, the two lines meet at the metacentre. If this is above the centre of gravity of the body the equilibrium is stable, if not, it is unstable
