Accelerogram 2 : Natural Disaster. The record or time history obtained from an instrument called an accelerometer showing acceleration of a point on the ground or a point in a building as a function of time. The peak acceleration, the largest value of acceleration on the record is typically used in design criteria. The velocity and displacement time histories and the response spectrum are derived analytically from the time history of acceleration
