Minisonde Observation
Minisonde Observation : A method of constructing a vertical temperature profile determined by air temperature data being continuously telemetered to a portable receiver unit at the earth's surface from a transmitting sensor package that is carried aloft by a free-lift balloon. Winds aloft may also be determined at the same time for the purpose of constructing a vertical wind profile by employing the procedures used for a pilot balloon observation.
