Modeling 2 : Disaster Management. (Techn) The art or practice of predicting the results of an experiment by analogy with another, usually simpler and smaller experiment. Modeling is accomplished by expressing physical processes in numerical form and varying the values to observe the behaviorof other values. Note: Models are small in scale and mathematical and are much cheaper than full-scale experiments. Successful modeling often improves the physical insight into a system. Modeling may be complete or partial, depending on whether a single parameter or all important physical parameters are modeled. Where a single or dominant parameter is important, such as a linear dimension, the process is called scaling
