Molten Metal-Water

Molten Metal-Water : Chemical explosions are not always produced by a fuel-oxydant reaction, they can appear when an exothermic reaction proceeds without control so that a runaway reaction can be developed. Also, chemical reactions at atomic or nuclear level do not need the presence of fuel and oxidant. Physical explosions are not produced by the chemical reaction between a fuel and an oxidant. They occur due to physical energy release, for example, when vessels are pressurized beyond their limits and rupture. A flammable vapour-air mixture explosion is an example of this. When a liquid contained in a vessel is heated above its atmospheric boiling point a BLEVE, or boiling liquid expanding vapour explosion, can occur
