Mond Gas 2 : A process for gasifying coal at a relatively low temperature, using a mixture of air and steam. The use of steam increases the yield of ammonia. The process was invented primarily to produce the ammonia needed for the ammonia-soda process. The gas is of low calorific value but can be used for industrial heating
