MPS 02 : Metropolitan Police Service. The MPS of Scotland Yard has many Specialist Operations departments, including an anti-terrorist SO. The MPS is unique among UK police forces for performing national functions in security and protection, and intelligence and surveillance. The MPS is responsible for management of the National Identification Service (NIS) The MPS should not be confused with the City of London Police which is a separate force with local responsibilities in London
