National Biosurveillance Integration System (NBIS) :
In FY 2006 there were 493 "bioaerosol collectors deployed in the U.S. cities determined to be at the highest risk. These collectors serve to determine the characteristic and extent of a potential terrorist airborne health threat to the public and protect the public by enabling early response actions to identification of airborne materials in the event of an attack".
