Nautical Mile 12 : The distance unit in the nautical system, defined as the length of one minute of arc along any great circle on the earth's surface. Since this actual distance varies slighdy with latitude, a nautical mile by international agreement is defined as 1852 meters (6076.103 feet or 1.1508 miles).
