NCIC 2 : National Crime Information Center. NCIC is a function of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to serve as a nationwide information system and database that supports criminal justice agencies -- local, state, and federal -- to uphold the law and protect the public. NCIC provides a wide range of services such as mugshots, fingerprints, immigration status, and on-line manuals. It is a collection point of all lost or missing people in the United States.
