NCIX 1 : National CounterIntelligence Executive. A counterintelligence (CI) system to protect and preserve national and economic security. NCIX provides new and enhanced CI capabilities, ensures coherent programs, strategies, cooperative approaches, and conducts effective oversight. It identifies the nation's most critical assets (tangible and intangible), produces strategic CI analyses, develops the national threat assessment, formulates the national CI strategy, creates an integrated CI budget, and lays out an agenda of program reviews and evaluations.
