Node 01 : Medicine. (1) (Electr) A point, line, or surface in a standing wave where some characteristic of the wave field has essentially zero amplitude. (2) (Med) A small, round or oval mass of tissue; a collection of cells; one of several constrictions occurring at regular intervals in a structure. Note: A lymph node is a gland-like structure along a lymphatic passage that tends to eliminate bacteria. (3) (Fire Pr) A point on a map, usually a street intersection, that is assigned a unique number for computer processing. Note: Nodes are used to develop travel route networks and to calculate travel times of fire apparatus
