Non-Aqueous Drilling Fluid (NADF)

Non-Aqueous Drilling Fluid (NADF) : An emulsion of non-aqueous (water immiscible) base fluid and brine, mixed with weighting material and other material such as gels and emulsifiers. NADFs serve many purposes under difficult drilling conditions, the main one being suspending cuttings and transport them to the surface where they become segregated from the NADF. NADFs are usually recovered and reused
