Non-combustibility Test :

Test (BS 476 pt 4) to determine whether building materials are combustible or non-combustible. The specimens are 40 mm wide X 40 mm long X 50 mm high and they are placed in a furnace heated to 7500C for 20 minutes. Three specimens are tested and the material is said to be non-combustible if none of them either; a) cause the temeprature reading from either of the two thermocouples to rise by 500 or more above the initial furnace temperature, or, b) is observed to flame for 10 seconds or more inside the furnace
