Normalisation 1

Normalisation 1 : (ICT) A database term. Normalisation is the process of arranging data in such a way that it does not occur more than once within the database. Sometimes this is not practical because it leads to many tables having to be made, so a compromise is often made. There are three main levels of normalisation. 1st Normal form. This is the least efficient form, with the most repetition of data. However, it often has the simplest set of tables. 2nd Normal Form. Bit more efficient, but redundant data is still allowed 3rd Normal Form. The most efficient, as there is no repetition of data, however it may lead to many tables having to be made
