Acceptance of a Claim : When an injured worker's claim is received, a certified claims examiner working for the employer's insurance company determines if the worker's injury or disease qualifies for benefits based on Oregon Revised Statutes and Oregon Workers' Compensation case law. (See Compensability). The decision to accept or deny a claim must be made within 60 days of the employer's notice or knowledge of an occupational injury or disease
