Nuclear or Radiological Terrorism, Rapid Response to 07

Nuclear or Radiological Terrorism, Rapid Response to 07 :

(2) Triage D: Key Principles of Control: (a) Hospitals should designate a central point where patients are funneled into the hospital (ensure that it is within walking distance from the hospital). (b) Hospitals should clearly identify demarcation points (use control points, pylons, or tape) where people will be monitored when coming in and going out of the hospital. The hospital should provide survey monitors at both points. This also includes the restricting staff movement. (b-1) Designate separate "clean" vs. "contaminated" areas in the hospital. (b-2) Segregate contaminated and non-contaminated patients and arrange a location where contaminated patients can be observed with limited staff contact. (c) Hospitals should plan to contact local law enforcement and to augment hospital security staff to control facility ingress and egress (including the parking lot). (c-1) These security staff must control entrance of vehicles also. (c-2) They will also work with EMS to determine how to address contaminated EMS vehicles
