Observation 1


Observation 1 : Observation involves watching participants taking part in the intervention's activities, or watching their behaviour in public places in real life situations. This can be done using either a video camera or a human observer. Covert observation means that the participants have no knowledge of the fact that they are being observed. This type of observation is often considered unethical and must only be used where there is no genuine alternative method, and when the research is likely to result in a great benefit to the population. Overt observation means that the participants are informed of the fact that they are being observed
