Occupational Asthma 1 : A disorder characterised by bronchial hyper-responsiveness (BHR) or variable airflow limitation related to workplace exposures. Many hundreds of occupational agents, including some inorganic and organic dusts, have been associated with occupational asthma. Biological agents include grains, flours, plants and gums, fur, feathers and other animal parts, insects and fungi, drugs and enzymes, and various types of wood.
