Occupational Cancer 2 : ILO Convention No. 139 (1974) concerns the prevention of occupational cancer. The Convention entails the obligation for the ratifying State to determine periodically the carcinogenic substances and agents to which occupational exposure shall be prohibited or regulated, and to make every effort to have carcinogenic substances and agents replaced by non-carcinogenic ones, to prescribe protective measures, supervisory measures, information requirements and the necessary medical examinations, tests or investigations.
