Occupational Exposure Limits (OELs) 6 : A generic term for an exposure limit established by an organisation (e.g., ACGIH*-TLV, or regulatory exposure limits) for use by trained occupational health personnel in the prevention of health effects in healthy workers from excessive exposure to occupational hazards. OELs may consist of allowable airborne exposures over a specified time period or of biological exposure limits (e.g., lead in blood).
